I bought a car from there years ago and the fees added up to so much it wasn’t a lot less than buying it private party.

Interesting to hear how it treated you though.

Tell me about it. I had to go through a broker so there were even more fees. I paid a $1900 buy it now price for the car and ended up paying $3000 + $700 shipping.

Thats still about $2000 lower than the worst TL in my area tho, so im still happy

Wow, getting a car at 15. You’re on top of things. I was 17 when I got my first car. That is indeed a wonderful feeling!

I drove my Cruze home on unfamiliar roads in the dark and pouring rain for an hour or so and wasn’ t very familiar with how small cars drive but that still is one of the most joyful moments in a car I’ve ever had. I still remember waking up that morning, running to my window, and flinging it open to see this beauty in the driveway. “So it wasn’t a dream after all!”

The TL is just a fantastic all-rounder. What’s the transmission/engine combo?

That thing looks pretty good for a Copart sale. What was the damage that totaled it? Flood car.

1. Actually, I turned 16 in August. It’s just that it’s been 1 year since I last posted here.

2. Cruze is one of the rare Chevy’s that I actually like, so nice

3. It’s the 3.2L V6 with the 5 speed Auto (I can drive manual but I actively prefer auto for some reason)

4. It was listed as “Normal Wear” with a clean title so I’m assuming it was a dealer trade in that got sent off to copart

I’ve been getting a lot of help from this one guy named @rende_UA6 on IG. His TL build is the perfect example of what I want to do with mine

Better update your username then, haha. I’m sort of new around here so I don’t remember you. I’m Who, one of Oppo’s resident Citroen fanatics and one of the last of the Cruze apologists. Currently a carless collegiate.

The Cruze is just a fantastic all around car. And you’d be hard pressed to find another sub 5k car in 2018 that had bluetooth, much less one that also had only 100k miles. I wrote all about it here:

The V6 in those cars is supposed to be very good and definitely faster than the 4 cylinder. I don’t fault you for getting the auto. There’s nothing wrong with that. I do wish I’d got the manual on my Cruze simply because I don’t like how the auto shifts at lower speeds and it isn’t known for being very durable. Plus, with only 126 hp, the extra hp/torque and power manipulation you get matters more.

Huh, I suppose you just don’t hear much about regular auction sales through Copart without branded titles. I wish you luck with your new ride. It is your first, right? It’s hard to express just how much that first car means to a person. The level of freedom you gain simply isn’t the same as when you are borrowing a car.

I too was 17, but I drove it home in the middle of the day with maybe one functional brake and got pulled over because the state inspection sticker in the windshield was 7 years expired (had 14 days to get it done but they couldn’t tell flying down the highway that it was freshly purchased).

I have a friend who had one of these for a while, it was a very good car for all-around use. Apparently there’s some solenoids on the transmission that have a regular service interval he said made it shift a lot crisper, so maybe look into that if you haven’t already.

I don’t know much else about them :)

V ery nice - love those, especially in that pearl white. My old boss had a blue one for a while before he had a bunch of kids.  Congrats.

That must have been terrifying. Glad that didn’t happen to me. And you bought a car with brakes that bad?

Could have been worse, it did stop, just not too keenly.

There weren’t many C hevelles I could afford at 17. There still aren’t many.

I can understand that. There weren’t many cars that weren’t thrashed I could afford, but I found one.

Oh, you’re going to build it out? Nice. Those generally look so good with some subtle wheels and maybe a few suspension mods. You don’t want to lower it poorly though. That’s one thing you don’t want to cheap out on.

Also, see my other comment in this thread.
